Why This Matters

Scientific discoveries like this expand human knowledge and open new possibilities for addressing global challenges.

According to the study, planning on a larger scale along river catchments is necessary to improve the connection between floodplains at the catchment level of rivers. The findings are published in the journal Nature Conservation.
