New ISL-supported English initiative focuses on literacy and employment readiness for Deaf learners

A new English learning initiative using visual-first teaching methods and Indian Sign Language support aims to improve literacy and workplace communication among Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. The programme includes school partnerships, teacher training and workplace communication modules, while also supporting Deaf employees through industry collaborations. More than 500 learners have already completed the programme, which seeks to expand access to inclusive English education and improve employment opportunities through accessible learning.
